Bio:

History: The wolf who would later be known as Waffles was born in the thick forests of western New York state to a wolf bitch who had been impregnated by a werewolf father, with whom the blood of the Children of Gaia was strong. Because of that, Waffles’ litter turned out different than most.

Of six puppies, two were males and four females. Two of the females died early on, weeks after birth – the natural world is an unforgiving place, and when game grew scarce during the winter, the pups’ mother had to roam further and for longer in order to find food. On one of these occasions, a bear found, killed, and ate two of them while the remaining four pups stayed hidden – left alive not due to their own ingenuity, but because the bear’s hunger was sated.

But as the four remaining pups grew, they grew fast and they grew strong, Waffles the strongest of all of them. They played aggressively with each other, often roughly enough that their mother had to break things up. But this meant that when the time came to hunt for their own, the four were a terror in the woods, bringing down large game easily.

But, the woods are less and less the domain of the wolves, and humans continued to encroach and hunt. On one of their outings, the four adolescent wolves discovered the scent of hunters. While Waffles’ three siblings urged caution, Waffles couldn’t restrain his curiosity, and it caused them to be noticed. With one of his sisters shot through a leg, Waffles felt his aggression take over. He leapt upon the hunter before the man could reload his bolt action rifle, and tore him apart.

Though his sibling survived and eventually healed, things were not the same between Waffles and his family after that. They understood that he’d done something that could bring terrible wrath down upon them. But fortunately for them, Waffles has distinctive markings – white chevrons in his black fur, that run from his snout halfway down his back. There was no mistaking the human-killing wolf. And so, Waffles left his family, to keep them out of danger. Fortunately, have conspired to keep him busy, and the hunters off his trail.
